Child Care Nurse Consultants

The Healthy Child Care Illinois initiative was launched on the principle of the Healthy Child Care American campaign---that families, in partnership with child care and health care providers, can promote the positive development of children in child care settings.

Services Available

Provide on-site educational sessions with children.
Technical assistance with child passenger safety.
Promote quality child care in the community.
Provide training for child care staff.
Assist parents and providers with resources regarding children with special needs.
Consultations with child care providers and parents by telephone and on-site visits.

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

The IDHS Bureau of Child Care & Development began the Mental Health Consultant project to address the social/emotional mental health needs of young children, birth to age 5 in child care settings.

When you are having CONCERNS about children, ages 0-5, regarding:
CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS - aggressions, tantrums, over-activity
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL ISSUES - fearfulness, crying, withdrawal
DEVELOPMENTAL CONCERNS - motor, sensory, speech and language
PROBLEMS WITH PLAY AND SOCIALIZATION
FAMILY PROBLEMS - Divorce, abuse, violence and poverty
When you want help with STRENGHTHENING COMMUNICATION & WORKING with Parents
When you want help responding to CRISIS - loss, trauma, illness
When you need RESOURCES or REFFERRALS for your families

Jolie will offer support, consultation, education, and training to child care providers, staff, and administrators with the goal of strengthening and improving the quality of care for infants, young children, and families. She will work with you to foster the healthy development of your children and positive relationships with your families.
